Location, climate, resources

Natural advantages as a development base

Location, climate and natural resources are Trebinje’s core development assets. The city sits where Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Croatia meet, with three border crossings — two to Montenegro (Nikšić and Herceg Novi) and one to Croatia (Dubrovnik).

The mild Mediterranean climate suits every Mediterranean crop, and more than 260 sunny days a year make it ideal for solar energy.

  • Hydropower and solar energy
  • Unpolluted land for organic production
  • 4 faculties, aiming to become a university centre
  • A pleasant place to live and work
